The hotel is in the fort - atmosphere is perfect. We can put our luggages on special room after check out.

Lovely guesthouse, lovely people, lovely food I stayed at this guesthouse for ten days and it was absolutely delightful. The whole property is decorated with wall paintings, done by the owner, Aku, and these create a special and peaceful atmosphere. Aku and all his staff are friendly and helpful and they made sure I had everything I needed and was able to visit everywhere I wanted to go. As a solo traveller, this is very important. The rooms are very pleasant and quiet and I had great views, too. There are comfortable places to sit and relax in the guesthouse, enjoying spectacular views over the city, and the rooftop restaurant is excellent. I enjoyed several Ragasthani specialties, which I had not had before and which were delicious. I especially loved the overnight camel safari, with Happy Camel Safaris. We first travelled by jeep for about 50kms visiting some local points of interest and then met up with the camels in the Thar Desert. After riding for about an hour and a half, we arrived at our camping place in the dunes. The staff first prepared chai, which was so welcome, and then prepared a meal over the open fire. There was more than ample food - two curries, rice, chappatis and a fiery sauce for those of us who wanted a really spicy kick! The sunset, sleeping under the stars and, of course, the sunrise provided a once in a life time experience for me. Our guides were knowledgeable and great fun - singing Rajasthani songs well into the night. Magical. I cannot recommend Surya Paying Guesthouse enough.
